Starting to make my favorite music of 2009 list, it's gunna be tough

I think this year was above average for new great music stay tuned for a very in depth well thought out and probably poorly written post.

Small black will def be on it somewhere

Small Black- Despicable Dogs (Washed Out Remix)

Tim Burton @ MoMA

I checked out the Tim Burton exhibition at MOMA out this weekend and it was stellar!  I highly recommend it, try to go when its not crowded if that's even possible.  If you think his movies are creepy or crazy his sketches are even better.  There are hundreds of sketchbook pages on the walls and models of things throughout, I constantly found myself saying Wow! that's where that idea for so and so character came from or more often than not  thinking Wow! this guys is insane.
Please excuse the poor image quality, I had to take them secretly as photography is not allowed.

All for the best-thom yorke

I'm about to do the unthinkable, buy an album on itunes,  there is a 41 deluxe or 20 track tribute album called Ciao My Shining Star dedicated to Mark Mulcahy's wife who passed away about a year ago,  the money goes to help him raise his twin daughters, it's all covers of his songs by some pretty solid musicians, see above.

who he is  "Mark Mulcahy was the singer for the New Haven, Connecticut-based band Miracle Legion, active in the 1980s to mid-1990s. ML released several records on several labels but ultimately split up.

Mark soon formed Polaris, the house band for the mid-1990s Nickelodeon series 'The Adventures of Pete & Pete'. Following the cancellation of 'Pete & Pete', Mulcahy found himself playing solo. He began releasing albums on the Mezzotint label and so here we are..."-.mezzotint.com

"Do you remember the first time you heard that incredible song? You played it to the point of redundancy and still managed to enjoy it every subsequent listen. Then you got older and your ears more selective, moving onward to find more great songs. After time and upon nearly forgetting the track all-together, you hear it once more and go through an entire renaissance with your cherished tune all over again." from I guess I'm floating

The Future, Wouldn't That Be Nice?

If I could pick and choose talents from people and have them as my own I would take Syd Mead's rendering skills.  Syd Mead is an industrial designer, artist, and bad-ass drawer.  His concepts have heavily/directly influenced nearly any decent sci-fi movie since the 60's including star wars, tron, alien, and blade runner.

oh, btw these are done with markers

new funny blog by 30 something single male living in new york

http://boyslifenyc.com/

"We sit for a long time wondering how much of it was genuine attraction and how much of it was just the rejection. Nothing is more attractive than a woman who won’t put up with your shit. One that wont lay down and let you walk all over them. It’s not that simple though. You can’t just call me lame and I’m going to love you. It’s a magical combination. Telling me how full of shit you think I am with words but beg me to kiss you with your eyes. Men and women have been playing this game forever. I tell myself it’s a universal truth. Like the song suggests:"
